Geo Land - The Dream Traveler

For a remaster of a video game more than a decade old, I provided some visual updates that it very much needed.

Geo Land - The Dream Traveler was a video game created back in 2010 by Unsupported, who is remastering the game to fit into the modern gamescape. As they are a solo developer handling all aspects of the video game creation, they have outsourced a few aspects of the art creation to me in order to create more appealing visuals that will attract players.

Battle Model Update

The model of the game in the turn-based battle menu is divided into parts. With each part moving separately, the model can be animated during the fight scene. I created new assets that are more visually refined than the old ones and also better matched the overworld sprite. In the examples below, I have updated the assets of two sets of equipment - the Siltar armor set and the Defender armor set.

Sprite Animation Update

Given the design of the overworld sprite, I have helped to update and amend the walking animation which was previously not satisfactory. With the update of the animation, the character walks more naturally with some movement of the head bobbing that happens as a person's height from the ground changes during a stride. The updated animation is then made into a sprite sheet that the game uses.
